What is the most radical haircut change you've ever had?

Recently I shaved my loaf bald, after growing my hair 5 inches long. I like the slick bald look, and decided to keep it for a while.
From some of the reactions I have received, you would dream that I had gone and cut off my nose to spite my face! It's not like I have NEVER shaved my head before; on the contrary, I have done it several times, the first time being when I was 18, twenty years ago, when nobody but skinheads had shaved heads.
People say to me, "but you had such gracious hair!" If they only knew how much trouble it is to hold onto my hair, as well as touch it up every so often!
So, my question is this: have you ever made a radical change to your hair, like get an exceptionally short haircut after having your hair long? Have you ever buzzed or shaved your head, or gotten some other extreme haircut? What were people's reactions?
I'm honest wondering because I am old enough to know what I am doing, but people act as though I've lost my mind. Anyone else ever experience this?
Hm, the most severe was when I was younger, and I had a Jadehawk, and my dad decided he hated it, so he shaved it all off... That sucked with me situation at the time, PLUS, I was a fifteen year old wench, my boyfriend wanted me to grow my hair out, was the scapegoat of the school, and everyone thought I was weird, anyway. :-( meh
I have shaved my head, I have had a psychobilly separator/flattop, a mohawk, and all kinds of colors...
I had a phase or dying my har different colors all of the time. I also shaved inescapable parts and was left with a psychobilly flattop... that was.... ugly haha Apparently that's a BOYS ONLY haircut... It looked bad on me..
This is the variety of a psychobilly Flat Top UP(not a picture of me):

Even when my hair doesn't change. I never get complete reactions. It sucks, but have gotten used to it. When i don't like people's hair, it usually dosen't cross my care after the initial thought that I don't like their hair, I don't say crap, like a lot of people do to me, that sucks. I got so many comments, I couldn't schedule 'em all.. they sucked though.. from strangers, usually.. so rude. I'm really nice, but everyone gives me crap..
I have been jumped by rednecks with almost every the footlights of my hair until I moved, and it was over my hair a lot of times. Um, I have always been heckled and judged, but I like doing what I like to do, I don't do anything for them...except maybe carry myself when they harass me. I get harassed. My parents used to hate it, my dad told I was stupid when i would shave it... but my mom likes the colors, now...haha,
My gourd shaved for the flattop(DOWN) It wasn't so bad when It was down:

And Present-day hair:

It's been a lot of different style and colors inbetween and before then..haha
Fitting remember that you should do what YOU want to do. Backing down is for the weak. You shoudn't care what people think, and even though they're rude by giving crap, no more than ignore it.
EDIT: Well, people weren't used to people that looked like me anyway, and when I moved to a rich township from a pofunk town, no one knew what to think. I never wore gucci, so I was weird. haha. I pushed back when they harassed me, markedly in sschool, so The whole shaved head/skinhead ties kinda worked in my favor. No one messed with me, because no one knew what I was inclined to of doing.. haha worked out nicely..
It's all funny, and so trivial..
I don't let it bother me, I've numb to it! I'm very happy being me..
