Running Business?

My fiance and i (20 & 26) have been discussing running our own business, we havent looked into it alot as yet. But are wondering whether we should look at buying an established business or start from scuff? There is not alot on the market at the moment...Has anyone got advice on owning your own business? where to start, what needed etc...
Just wanted to quickly add, we have worked together (for someone else's business) for about 4 years now and travail on all our problems until we find a solution suiting the both of us.. Financially we r ok, well believe we are. depends what option we decide etc...

i'd always caution starting your own business from scratch - you need to do something you are interested in and have a passion for otherwise you'll lose motivation when you need it the most!
the only drawback to that option is that is you are both wealthy to start it together - how will you make enough money to live on, and will your relationship hold together if you run a business together? (what if you disagree on a really important issue about your business, you have to go welcoming comfortable with together at the end of the day)

one more piece of advice, when you work for someone you go to work do your job then go home - when you have your own business it's all you think about night and day and it's hard to switch off!

other than that don't let me (or anything else) hold you back! starting my own business was the most artistically thing i ever did!
